Crime Analysis


The Crime Analysis Unit provides support to enforcement and criminal investigation components by performing complex research and numerous other duties to aid in formulating strategy for combating crime and enhancing the investigative process. Crime Analysts develops profiles on individuals by conducting research to identify personal, environmental, and criminal characteristics of victims and offenders. Additionally, as the primary resource center where specific crime data is collected, Crime Analysts assemble information to ensure timely dissemination to operational and investigative units. Data is analyzed to identify the existence of criminal activity, crime patterns, and suspect modus operandi, and this data is frequently compared with surrounding jurisdictions.
