Emergency Services

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is committed to maintaining a cadre of highly trained, disciplined, and motivated deputies, who are specifically equipped and available to respond to crisis incidents. Seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Each team member keeps himself/herself available on a twenty‑four hour basis by telephone, radio, or assigned pager

The Emergency Services shall be comprised of at least 20 members. Their mission, which is not a full‑time assignment, is to provide ready response to situations beyond the capabilities of normally equipped and trained deputies. This includes, but is not limited to, crisis situations.

The members of this unit have been trained in specialized assignments to include hostage negotiations, the operations of the Mobile Command Center, the Mobile Command Response Unit, Disaster Response, and other related supportive roles of emergency operations.
