The Records Section, as the "historian" of the agency, receives,
maintains, preserves, and retrieves all records, files, and other legally required
papers maintained by the agency, other than personnel records. The unit also provides
these documents to agency personnel and the public, as required by Florida Public
Records law. This unit also provides all agency-generated reports, as required.
The Teletype Unit, a component of this section, maintains the currency
of warrants and responds to field requests regarding wanted persons. Finally, this
section handles all of the mail functions for the agency.
