Contractors and Vendors
All contractors or vendors who desire to work with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office must have a background check and be fingerprinted. Please review the information below and complete the Background Waiver and Security Addendum. Once complete, please contact Human Resources at (941)747-3011, ext. 2132 to schedule an appointment. Any persons requesting security access to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office facilities must meet the following criteria:
Felony Convictions:
- No prior felony convictions
- Must not currently be on probation or any other form of supervision involving the legal system
NOTE: Persons with felony charges/convictions over ten years old may be considered on a case by case basis.
Misdemeanor Convictions:
- No prior violent misdemeanor convictions
- No misdemeanor convictions involving firearms/weapons
- No misdemeanor convictions involving drug offenses within the last 3 years
- No other misdemeanor convictions involving charges of moral turpitude within the last 5 years from the date of
disposition
- Must not currently be on probation or any other form of supervision involving the legal system
Other situations which may result in a denial of access:
- Persons with a history of domestic violence
- Persons involuntarily admitted under the Baker Act or Marchman Act
- Persons currently under criminal investigation by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office or other law enforcement
agency
- Persons with pending criminal charges or for whom criminal charges are imminent
- Persons known by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office to be fellow travelers or associates of gang members or
known criminals
- Persons whose immigration status is unknown or unverifiable
- Persons deemed ineligible by the Sheriff
