Employees work in one of four different bureaus within the Sheriff's Office, with a wide variety of jobs available in each bureau.
The Law Enforcement Bureau consists of Deputy Sheriffs whose main responsibilities include a variety of law enforcement activities. This bureau also includes our School Crossing Guard positions.
The Investigative Bureau consists of Detectives, along with Child Protection Services and Support Staff. Support Staff positions include records clerks and secretaries.
The Corrections Bureau includes Corrections Deputies and Support Staff responsible for the operation of the Detention Facility.
Administrative Support Staff positions are available in Human Resources, Information Technology, Purchasing, Supply, Bailiffs and other departments that support the entire Agency.
Qualifications for positions vary. Most positions however, do require the following:
- Minimum age of 18
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check of employment, education, criminal history, and drug screen.
