Synopsis: At approximately 2:20 p.m. deputies were called to a bank robbery at Wells Fargo 1815 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. Employees reported a white male entered the bank, demanded cash, then fled.
A vehicle matching the description of the suspect was observed travelling west bound on SR 64 E just east of Heritage Green Way. The patrol unit attempted to do a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop and proceeded onto I-75 North bound. A pursuit was initiated. The suspect crossed the median and crashed onto the driver’s side of a vehicle which was travelling south bound on I-75.
The suspect was ordered to get out of the vehicle multiple times but refused. K-9 was deployed and engaged the suspect on the left thigh. He was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital by EMS with minor injuries.
The person in the other vehicle had some minor cuts and bruises, but refused medical attention.
Parent has also been charged with the Bank Robbery from 3/27/19 at Bank OKZ (600 Block of S.R. 70 E, Bradenton, FL 34203).
