Person/Suspect Info

Human remains discovered in a field off 16th Ave E / 61st St E, Palmetto on 10/31/18 have been positively identified as that of Jeremey Joyner (DOB: 7/9/1981). The Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed the ID through DNA.

Joyner was reported missing by his family on 05/25/18 when he failed to show up to take a family member to a doctor's appointment. Three weeks later on 06/11/18 his vehicle was found abandoned in the 600 block of MLK Blvd (9th Street East) in the city of Bradenton, with personal items left inside.

Detectives had reason to believe his disappearance was suspicious in nature, but at that time there was no evidence of foul play. The case is now being investigated as a homicide. The suspected manner of death and other details of the case are not available at this time for investigative reasons.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Gold Star Club of Manatee County is offering a $5000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the homicide of Jeremey Joyner. Contact the MCSO at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
