As Sergeant Randy Lamb was driving to work on I-75 on March 24th, he came upon a car accident. A witness said she was behind the vehicle when it suddenly swerved into the median, striking the safety cables.
Sgt. Lamb tried to get the driver’s attention by banging on the window, but the driver was unresponsive and the vehicle’s doors were locked. Sergeant Lamb quickly used his baton to break a window and gain access to administer aid, performing CPR until EMS arrived.
Sergeant Lamb’s quick response and efforts kept the victim alive until EMS arrived and continued the lifesaving efforts. For his actions, Sergeant Randy Lamb is awarded the agency’s Deputy of the Month for April.
