Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery for Timothy Steven Smith in connection with the Fidelity Bank robbery that occurred on 10/4/16. Smith is also a suspect in an armed robbery at a Sarasota Walgreens store last night. RE: BANK ROBBERY
SHERIFF W. BRAD STEUBE REPORTS:
At approximately 2:20 this afternoon, deputies responded to a bank robbery at Fidelity Bank located at 3005 53 Ave. E. Bradenton.
According to witnesses, the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank. A weapon was implied but not seen.
The suspect went to a Race Trac gas station across the street from the bank and started asking people for a ride. It’s believed the suspect got a ride from someone driving a red four door car. A photo of the car has been provided.
The suspect is described as a W/M, 5'7 – 5’10", 160-175 pounds with short cropped salt and pepper hair, balding on top. The suspect was wearing a white t shirt, dark pants and sunglasses. The shirt had a logo over the shirt pocket and on the back of shirt which has been identified as Manson Roofing. Detectives have contacted Manson Roofing and the suspect apparently has no affiliation with the company.
