On June 23, 2019 while on call, Rachael Fossaceca was working a stabbing call in which the victim was homeless. During the call, she responded to the hospital to collect the clothing the victim was wearing and submitted it to Property & Evidence.
Days later, Rachael received a call from Property advising the victim was asking about getting his clothing back. Property & Evidence told the victim the clothing had been soiled with blood and had been cut by EMS. Rachael thought if the victim asked for those clothes back, it may be because he didn’t have many clothes and truly needed them. She went to Goodwill and bought the victim clothes to replace the ones that had been ruined along with a cooler, sleeping bag, and bottles of water. She delivered the items to the victim.
For her efforts to help someone in need, Rachael Fossaceca is awarded the agency’s Employee of the Month for August.
