Person/Suspect Info
Employee of the Month – February 2022
Barry Fox
On October 6, 2021, ICE agents were in the Judicial Center to make an arrest on a subject who was expected to appear for a hearing. The subject was arrested without incident and escorted to the agent's vehicle outside in the Judicial Center parking lot. Shortly after they escorted him out, Barry Fox, who was monitoring the cameras on the outside of the building alerted deputies that the subject had escaped from the agents and was fleeing. At that point, Deputies Kevin Geis and Israel Diaz quickly exited their post on the first floor to assist. They found the subject on top of the ICE agent, attempting to choke him. They quickly got control of the subject and secured him without further incident.
For his observation and quick response to get deputies to the aid of the agents, Barry Fox has been named the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Employee of the Month for February 2022.
