The COPS Units provide Community Oriented Policing to the designated Weed and Seed areas of the county and other specialized patrol
functions as required. It is designed to bring the uniformed deputy and the community closer together. This is done by researching
repetitive calls for service at specific locations and determining solutions to those problems.
Cadet Explorers
The Patrol Division contains the Cadet Explorers, sanctioned by the Boy Scouts of America. They are a component made up of young people
who assist in civic projects and who are taught various facets of law enforcement procedures.
Countywide Community Policing Task Force
The Countywide Community Policing Task Force is a rapid deployment team that is able to assist immediately in problem areas with activities
such as intensive saturation patrol, surveillances, traffic problems, etc. The primary function is to assist in the designated COPS areas.
