Fingerprint Unit

The Fingerprint Unit is tasked with the job of determining a person’s identity and positively identifying a person at the scene of a crime. The unit consists of a unit manager three latent print examiners, two ten print fingerprint examiners and one forensic services specialist.

The latent print examiners compare prints lifted from crime scenes and other evidence to determine if prints belong to the suspect. This section has a state-of-the-art Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) system that electronically compares and searches fingerprint databases.
